Keir bio 

Keir is a long-term Rotarian, recent past-president of Summit Rotary, and current Assistant Governor for District 7690. He founded Greensboro-based Xtern Software in 2002. Xtern Software works primarily with business-to-business manufacturers, but has broadened its scope in recent years, to work with customers in higher education, nonprofits, and local government. The company is also highly involved in the local Greensboro community. 

Keir was first exposed to programming on a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. He has greatly expanded his programming abilities since then. Keir attended UNC – Chapel Hill (BA) and UNC – Greensboro (MS, Computer Science). Keir remains involved with the UNCG department of Computer Science as an instructor, a member of the Industry Advisory Board, and has hired a number of graduates at his company. 

Outside of work, Keir enjoys spending time with his wife and college-aged daughter, and collecting vintage pinball machines.
